United Center. Home to the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, United Center is the largest arena in the US and a fun tourist stop. Since 1994, United Center has hosted over 200 events and concerts each year including the 1996 Democratic National Convention, Rolling Stones and The Who, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament, the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament, the Great Eight Classic, DePaul College Basketball, and Champions on Ice. Soldier Field. Since the 1930's, the Chicago Bears have played world-class football at the newly-renovated Soldier Field, now home of the Bears and the League Soccer team Chicago Fire. The Bears season opens the first week of September and continues through December. Chicago Fire plays at Soldier Field beginning in April, and the season extends through the MLS Cup in November. Chicago CubsChicago Cubs. Established in 1876, the Chicago Cubs are a charter member of the National League and one of baseball’s first dynasties, winning six of the first 11 titles. Chicago White Sox. The American League's Chicago White Sox - the 2005 World Series Champions - swing into action at US Cellular Field. Chicago Bulls. Since the Chicago Bulls joined the NBA for the 1966 season, the franchise has dominated professional basketball putting tough teams and players on the court, including superstar Michael Jordan. In the early 1990s the Bulls won three consecutive NBA titles, becoming only the third franchise in history to string together a trio of crowns. Chicago BearsChicago Bears. Since 1922 the NFL’s Chicago Bears have been hailed as one the most exciting professional football teams in history. Chicago Fire. Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire play 30 regular-season league games per year. The Chicago Fire plays in the Village of Bridgeview (71st St. & Harlem Ave.) in a new $70 million, 20,000-seat sports and entertainment stadium.
