Art & Architecture at Millennium Park. The beautiful 24.5-acre park features the work of world-renowned architects, planners, artists and designers. Surrounding the dazzling, Frank Gehry-designed Jay Pritzker Pavilion, the most sophisticated outdoor concert venue of its kind in the country, stands astonishing works of art and architecture. Among Millennium Park's prominent features are the interactive Crown Fountain, the contemporary Lurie Garden, and Anish Kapoor's popular Cloud Gate, a mammoth stainless steel sculpture on the AT&T Plaza. Designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa and inspired by the people of Chicago, The Crown Fountain is a major addition to the city's world-renowned public art. The fountain consists of two 50-foot glass block towers at each end of a reflecting pool that project video images.

Millennium Park Events & Music. Millennium Park is a magical place for music lovers. From concerts by the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus and Chicago's jazz greats to the Gospel Music Festival, each year the park hosts an exciting line-up of music events that are as diverse as the City.

A revolutionary outdoor concert venue designed by Frank Gehry, winner of the National Medal of Art, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion is home to free concerts and events, and the Grant Park Music Festival. The Pavilion’s state-of-the-art sound system, the first of its kind in the country, emulates the acoustics of an indoor concert hall by distributing enhanced sound equally over 4,000 fixed seats and the Great Lawn, which accommodates another 7,000 people. Millennium Park is also Chicago's attraction for live theater, presenting unique theatrical performances throughout the park.  [Top]

McCormick Tribune Plaza and Ice Rink. McCormick Tribune Plaza and Ice Rink offers one of the best views of Chicago's famed Michigan Avenue streetwall. The 16,000-square-foot Ice Skating Rink operates from November 15 to March 16, 2007(weather permitting). Skating on the rink is free, and skate rental is available for $9.00.   [Top]
