The North Garage at Soldier Field is open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. It's accessible from the main entrance on Museum Campus Drive. Rates are $19 for the first 4 hours, or $22 for up to 12 hours. What is the history of the Field Museum?
The Field Museum was incorporated on September 16, 1893 as the Columbian Museum of Chicago with its purpose the "accumulation and dissemination of knowledge, and the preservation and exhibition of objects illustrating art, archaeology, science and history." In 1905, the museum's name was changed to the Field Museum of Natural History to honor the museum's first major benefactor, Marshall Field. In 1921, the museum moved from its original location in Jackson Park to its present site at the museum Campus in Grant Park. The Museum Campus includes the John G. Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium.
How do I get tickets for special exhibitions?
To ensure entry at the time and date of your choice, it is encouraged that you purchase tickets for special exhibitions in advance online at www.fieldmuseum.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the door when you arrive at the museum, while supplies last.
